Council approves three wet‑zone ordinances to permit on‑premises alcohol sales at Stripes locations

EAGLE PASS, Texas — Council members unanimously approved three introductory ordinances to amend the city’s wet‑zone map, adding three Stripes convenience‑store locations so they may apply for on‑premises alcohol sales for consumption.

City staff told council the applicants met the procedural requirements under Chapter 5 (wet‑zone) of the code and that similar convenience‑store liquor or prepared‑drink offerings exist elsewhere in town. Council moved to approve all three near‑identical items together; the motion passed without further discussion.

The three addresses included in the ordinances were presented as 2427 Del Rio Boulevard, 2093 North Veterans Boulevard and 4377 FM 1021. Staff noted the application process and code review were complete and recommended approval.
