Road & Bridge seeks contract amendment for Project 18425 and revives private dust-control option

Heath, speaking for Road & Bridge, told commissioners the county has updated an engineering agreement for Project 18425 after the previous contract expired; the revised total shown in the workshop discussion was just under $107,000 (quoted in the update as $106,712.96). Heath said procurement is complete and an apparent low bidder emerged; the county is awaiting the engineering firm's assessment before forwarding a recommendation to the board.

Heath also described reviving a private dust-control ("mag") program that lets residents pay to have a minimum 400-foot section treated in front of a residence. During the presentation the per-foot price was discussed as $154 per foot and an example cost for a 400-foot section was given as $616 (board members acknowledged the need to verify those figures; staff tied potential price fluctuations to fuel-cost volatility).

Road & Bridge noted storm-related tree cleanup, plans to add traffic counters to data-drive surface treatments, and that some older counter units are being replaced. Commissioners asked staff to confirm the contract figures and the correct per-foot pricing and directed Road & Bridge to continue procurement follow-up before bringing the contract and any fee schedules back to the board for formal approval.
