Seaside Sanitation District tables first reading of ordinance to assess proportional ADU capacity fees

At the May 19 special meeting the Seaside County Sanitation District held a first reading of an ordinance to amend section 4.15.010 of the district code to authorize assessment of proportional capacity fees for accessory dwelling units (ADUs) in compliance with California Government Code section 66013. The ordinance was introduced by district staff as a first reading; staff said the change would permit the district to charge ADUs proportional capacity fees rather than full standard fees.

Several board members said the city had limited time to review the draft and requested more coordination with city staff. A board speaker noted the city had proposed changes and requested a continuance. Public comment was opened; no members of the public spoke on the item. The board agreed to table the item to the next meeting for further review and potential amendment.
