President Donald J. Trump announced a large expansion of TrumpRx.gov at a public event, saying the site will add more than 600 generics and that private partners will help offer lower prices and home delivery.
"We've slashed the price of dozens of commonly used prescription drugs by differences of 400, 500, and even 600%," Trump said, casting the administration's most favored nation pricing approach as a historic reduction in drug costs.
Trump named partners joining the effort, including Cost Plus Drugs co-founder Mark Cuban, Amazon Pharmacy (identified in the event as represented by Tanvi Patel), and GoodRx's Aaron Crittenden. He invited Joe Gebbia, the Airbnb co-founder who led the site's design work with the National Design Studio, to demonstrate features that show lower-cash prices, a "presidential deals" section and a map that compares nearby pharmacy prices.
"Immediately, you'll see a new section called presidential deals," Gebbia said during a live demonstration, showing examples the event cited as a 77% discount for a GLP‑1 pill, 72% for an insulin medication and 61% for Trulicity.
Mark Cuban told the crowd Cost Plus Drugs will show its actual costs and said his operation marks up prices by 15% when customers click through from TrumpRx. "559 of those drugs are ours," Cuban said, adding that higher volume should lower costs further.
A health official identified in the transcript as Chris Clump described next steps, saying the administration will continue recruiting industry partners, pursue international trade agreements and press Congress for legislation to make the pricing approach durable.
Officials and presenters repeatedly urged Americans to consult TrumpRx before filling prescriptions. The event reiterated earlier usage figures presented by the administration: the site has been visited more than 10 million times and, the president said, has "saved American consumers over $400." The administration also said during the event that 601 additional medications were added to the system.
The announcement highlighted private-sector partners, design and search features intended to increase price transparency and options for home delivery. The administration signaled it will pursue both market agreements and legislation to entrench the policy.
The administration invited questions from reporters at the event and said the expansion represents an early step in broader efforts to reduce drug costs.
