Mayor Tamala Takahashi announced that the City of Burbank will hold a special City Council meeting on May 20 at 3:00 p.m. to consider the Metro Bus Rapid Transit Project (BRT) and Senate Bill 79. The mayor said the Council Chamber at City Hall will open at 2:15 p.m.
Takahashi said seating in the council chamber will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and encouraged attendees to plan ahead. She explained that an ADA-accessible elevator is available at the rear entrance of City Hall and that other guests should enter from Third Street.
There will be one public comment period near the beginning of the meeting, Takahashi said. Members of the public may speak in person or by telephone by calling 818-238-3335 to participate. The mayor outlined speaker time limits: up to 20 speakers will have three minutes each; 21 to 39 speakers will have two minutes each; and 40 or more speakers will have one minute each.
Takahashi directed residents to the city's website for the complete agenda and staff reports and said the meeting will be live-streamed on Spectrum Channel 6, AT&T Channel 99 and the city's YouTube page. The announcement closed with a reminder of the date and time of the meeting.
