Commission approves $151,000 change order to replace bridges at Leslie and Silvin parks

Hillary presented a resolution asking the body to approve a change order of just over $151,000 to complete bridge replacement work at Leslie Park and Silvin Park. She said additional scope at Leslie (an additional pathway and streambank stabilization) and an unanticipated sewer conflict at Silvin required adjustments and relocation of the Silvin bridge alignment.

Hillary told commissioners that work at both bridges is complete and that no further change orders are anticipated for the project. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote.

Staff said the change order exceeds the previously preapproved contingency of $70,000 and therefore required commission (and future council/contracting) approval as part of final project closeout.
