Board approves updated memorandum and contract for two school resource officers under Act 44

The board approved an updated agreement with the Northern York County Regional Police Department to provide two school resource officers in Spring Grove Area School District for the 2026–27 and 2027–28 school years and accepted an updated memorandum of understanding required under Act 44 (the Safe Schools Act).

Policy chair Doug Stein presented the package and said the memorandum was updated as required by Act 44; board members moved and seconded the item and recorded affirmative votes. The package also included a list of donations the board acknowledged, including a donated tree to be planted near the softball field as a tribute to a former student and athlete.

The action preserves school resource officer coverage for the coming two school years and updates the district's written commitments with the regional police department as described in the MOU. The board approved the items by voice and roll-call vote as recorded during the meeting.
