Board approves acceptance of CRAB funds for Cole Creek Road segment

County Engineer Susan Eugenas asked the Cowlitz County Public Works board to authorize the chair to sign a project agreement accepting CRAB funding for the Cole Creek Road project (mile 1.44–2). She said the county applied for $1.2 million in CRAB funds but the program could fund $613,072 at this time. "We already have STP funds in this," she told the board, and the county will approach construction needs with a small local match.

Eugenas requested the board sign the acceptance so CRAB could issue the paperwork; commissioners indicated assent and staff said they would notify CRAB they were ready to sign and return the executed agreement by email.

The request was presented as a routine project‑agreement acceptance; staff did not present a formal recorded roll‑call vote in the public transcript but verbally confirmed the board was "good to go." The county will proceed with the construction procurement and notify CRAB of the county’s acceptance.
