Board adopts district cardiac emergency plan and staff CPR training schedule

The board approved an updated cardiac emergency response plan presented by the district school nurse. The plan, adapted from Resource Training & Solutions, defines building‑level "red team" roles, identifies AED locations and establishes a Lifeline maintenance protocol for monthly checks and replacement pads.

The nurse said the district will keep digital maintenance logs with Lifeline and that lifesaving equipment will be placed at the stadium and off‑site athletic fields to meet response‑time goals. She also told trustees that all staff will receive hands‑on CPR training during workshop week and that coaches and activity sponsors should consider the nearest medical facility for away events.

Trustees approved the plan and related implementation steps by voice vote. Administration will finalize AED maps, order additional travel AEDs for off‑site events and include the plan in staff orientation and training documents.
