Board updates Policy A125 to add electronic payments and restrict relative evaluators

The Vigo County School Corporation board approved an update to Policy A125 on Monday after staff acknowledged the wrong file had been uploaded to the board packet at the prior meeting.

The corrected version adds electronic forms of payment to the sections addressing gifts and gift cards and clarifies a conflict‑of‑interest provision: a relative shall not evaluate another relative in the interview process. Staff said the language reflects a suggestion from the policy committee and apologized for the earlier upload error.

A board member moved, a colleague seconded, and the board approved the updated policy by voice vote. No board member requested further changes during the meeting.

The update is intended to tighten ethics and hiring‑process language; staff will implement the clarified interview restrictions as part of hiring procedures.
