Beaufort County Engineering announced three public meetings to present information and take questions about the Lowcountry Council of Governments US 278 to US 17 Corridor Study.
The meetings will run 4:00–6:00 p.m. with presentations at 4:10 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. The first session is scheduled for May 20 at the Hardeeville Recreation Center, 285 John Smith Road in Hardeeville; the second is May 21 at the Palmetto Electric Cooperative in Hardeeville; and the third is May 28 at the Hilton Head Branch Library on Hilton Head Island. County officials directed listeners to a press release on the Beaufort County website for more information.
The corridor study is intended to evaluate conditions along the US 278–US 17 corridor and gather public input; county staff said the meetings will include brief presentations followed by a period for questions. No formal decisions are being made at these meetings; they are information sessions and an opportunity for residents to tell planners what they see on the corridor.
The county's announcement included schedule and location details and a county web page for materials and updates.
