Back to the Strip reported to the Warren County Commission that its blessing program and event have provided sustained community support and substantial financial assistance over the past 15 years.
"Back to the strip raised over $128,000 this year alone, bringing our all-time community impact to more than $900,000 giving back over the past 15 years," Mary Walker told commissioners, describing the charity’s aid to families who were out of work, sick, injured or facing financial hardship. The program has helped 76 families and, since 2024, paid more than $125,000 directly to utility companies to keep services running for local households, Walker said.
Jennifer Woods of the Chamber of Commerce announced a Community and Career Expo set for Friday, June 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Three Star Mall. Woods said the free event will combine job-opportunity booths with nonprofit and business displays, resume and interview assistance, and family-friendly activities.
Commissioners applauded the group’s charitable impact and heard other community announcements, including EMS recognition week and an update that a VA clinic at the mall will remain through the end of the year.
