Council approves resolution of necessity for Daisy Street repairs; item pulled for separate vote

The Springfield City Council on May 20 approved a resolution of necessity tied to Bond Measure 20‑351 (project B20007) that addresses street repairs on Daisy Street. Councilors removed the item from the consent calendar for separate consideration because the resolution of necessity can be a prerequisite to eminent‑domain actions.

A council member moved approval and the motion was seconded; the measure passed by roll call, with six yeses and zero nos. Council discussion preceding the vote focused on the procedural need to consider the resolution separately rather than on the technical merits of the repairs. The resolution authorizes the city to proceed with the steps set out in the bond and related street repair projects; staff will implement the direction in accordance with the bond measure and applicable procedures.
