Wilmette SD 39 board approves consent agenda; moves to executive session

At its May 18 meeting, the Wilmette SD 39 Board of Education approved the consent agenda by roll call and later voted to adjourn into executive session.

The consent agenda included the personnel report dated May 18, 2026; the second and final reading of Board Policy 8:30 (Visitors to and Conduct on School Property); and accounts payable and manual checks listed in the board materials. The clerk called the roll for the consent vote and recorded unanimous approval: Kristen Niccastro (yes), Alison Pathless (yes), Amy Paling (yes), Katie Hilton (yes), Judy Berlin (yes), Anna Hart (yes) and Aaron Stone (yes). The board approved the previously distributed minutes earlier in the meeting as part of procedural business.

Several financial totals were read aloud from the agenda packet but portions of the transcript were garbled and did not capture clear, machine-readable dollar amounts for each fund. The board motion referenced the amounts listed in the board packet; the published board materials should be consulted for exact figures.

Later in the meeting, a motion to adjourn to executive session to discuss specific personnel items, special-education individual student matters, and collective negotiations was made, seconded and approved by roll call. The board left for executive session at 7:55 p.m.

No public votes on ordinances or new policies beyond the consent approvals occurred during the open portion of the meeting.
