The Effingham County Sheriff presented Distinguished Act recognitions at the county board meeting.
Morgan Walker was honored for coordinating donated beds and home repairs that ensured each child in a family of five had a new bed for Christmas. Sergeant Robin Brown and Sergeant Jonathan Shy were also recognized for saving a life in April after administering Narcan and performing extended CPR; sheriff's remarks said the subject made a full recovery.
The board also read and approved a resolution honoring Pamela Reeman for 38 years of service with the Effingham County Sheriff's Office. Sandy Rich moved to adopt the resolution and Doug McCain seconded; the motion carried by voice vote. In the resolution text the name appears with variant spellings ('Reman' and 'Reeman'); the board presented a clock and round of applause for Reeman.
Next steps: the sheriff presented lapel pins and awards during the meeting and the board will archive the retirement resolution with county records.
