Board approves one-lot Underwood House subdivision with drainage easement

The Howard County Drainage Board voted to accept a one-lot subdivision application for the Underwood House property on the east side of 300 West between 450 North and 350 North.

Wyatt Johnson presented the application and described the parcel’s relationship to a nearby open ditch. Johnson said the new lot will be positioned north of the open ditch and will include a drainage easement to permit a connection to that ditch. The plan calls for a concrete manhole to be core-drilled; the presenter also reported that soil borings were completed and submitted to the office recently.

Board staff (Greg) confirmed his concerns had been addressed. A board member moved to accept the subdivision; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The transcript does not record a numerical roll-call tally.

The board returned to regular business after the acceptance; a separate new-business item (K&J) was tabled to a future meeting and the meeting was adjourned.
