Erie City Council voted unanimously to pass a series of appropriation ordinances funding street paving, traffic signal upgrades and a screener machine for the Bureau of Streets.
The measures adopted on final passage were:
- Ordinance 26‑2026 (council file 16605): Appropriated $500,000 from the general fund for 2026 street paving.
- Ordinance 27‑2026 (council file 16606): Appropriated $1,000,000 from unappropriated fund balance in the liquid fuels fund for street paving and street lighting/traffic signals.
- Ordinance 28‑2026 (council file 16607): Appropriated $746,320.44 for the construction phase of the Green Light Go West 12th and Pittsburgh Avenue signal upgrades project.
- Ordinance 29‑2026 (council file 16608): Accepted $205,474 from the Pennsylvania DCED local share account to purchase a screener machine for the Bureau of Streets.
Each item passed on final reading with roll‑call recorded as unanimous (6–0). Council sponsors for the ordinances included council members Troop, Horton and others as noted on the agenda. The measures will enable planned paving work this construction season and fund an intersection signal upgrade planned under the Green Light Go program.
