County audits completed; Brown Edwards to present findings to Board of Supervisors on June 8

Staff reported that audits of Montgomery County departments receiving county funds have finished and that Brown Edwards is the contracted auditor. Chiefs and treasurers were invited to a review meeting with the auditor next Tuesday at 17:30 to examine findings and suggestions before Brown Edwards presents the audits to the Board of Supervisors on June 8.

A staff member summarized the audits as generally positive with a few routine recommendations. The county will invite feedback from departments to streamline future audits and identified signatures already collected to conclude the auditor's work. The Chair asked whether future audits would be faster; staff said the second cycle should take less time because background information will be on file.

During administrative reports the commission also approved the meeting minutes by motion and voice vote earlier in the session.
