Calcasieu Parish Police Jury approves permits, contracts and gaming‑fund allocations; adopts solid‑waste manual

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury met on May 21 and approved a slate of routine and project items, including new liquor and beer permits, the sale of adjudicated property, engineering contract actions and several budget‑committee recommendations.

The jury voted to approve three new liquor/beer permits, one renewal and to ratify a special‑event permit after staff recommended approval. It approved the sale of adjudicated property at 323 Church Street in Lake Charles and adopted ordinances rescinding adjudications for properties including parcels identified by ordinance numbers 8063 and 8110.

On infrastructure matters, the jury adopted a resolution approving a professional engineering contract for the Forest Avenue drainage improvement project, approved an amendment for the LA‑1256 at Carlos Drive intersection improvement project, and accepted a donation of a permanent utility servitude for the Big Lake Road waterline expansion project. The jury also adopted the 2027 Solid Waste Management Manual and authorized staff to advertise a request for proposals for residential solid‑waste collection and disposal services.
