District curriculum staff recommended Amplify Desmos Math (Texas) as the district's comprehensive K'5 tier-1 math resource for the 2026'27 adoption, following a multi-stage review that included vendor presentations, PLC votes and community viewing sessions.
Staff described the selection process: a leadership review narrowed four vendors to three, a district steering committee and teacher PLCs participated in vendor review days, and campus PLC votes and community feedback were analyzed. Curriculum staff said Amplify Desmos Math received the majority of PLC and community votes and that the resource includes intervention, reteach and extension activities; staff emphasized that materials are available in printable paper formats as well as digital platforms.
Trustees asked whether the adoption would eliminate the need for supplemental materials and whether accommodations and modifications for students with IEPs would be manageable. Staff said the resource is comprehensive and includes scaffolds and built-in checks such as exit tickets, but that some supplemental intervention tools will still be used as needed. The district plans a measured rollout with early-implementation campuses next year and full implementation phased across grades to support teacher professional learning.
No formal adoption occurred at the meeting; the recommendation will move forward through the board's adoption process.
