Board approves consent agenda, superintendent guardrails and budget amendment; hires deputy superintendent and a principal

At the meeting the Leander ISD Board of Trustees took several formal votes.

Consent agenda: Trustee Trish moved to approve the consent agenda with the superintendent guardrails removed from the consent list. The board approved the motion (6 ayes).

Superintendent guardrails: After discussion about whether enrollment and retention should be elevated as a stand-alone guardrail, a motion to approve the superintendent guardrails as presented passed (6 ayes).

Budget amendment: The board approved FY26 budget amendment number 12 (Child Nutrition Services fund) to spend down an identified CNS fund balance for equipment and serving-line needs; the motion passed (6 ayes).

Personnel: Returning from closed session, the board approved a two-year employment contract for Angela Hodges as deputy superintendent for learning and innovation and approved Gina Freeman as principal at North Elementary School (each motion seconded and passed with recorded unanimous votes in open session).

All votes and motions were recorded in open session following trustee motions and seconds; the meeting adjourned after personnel actions.
