Commission confirms several appointments including Barry Blackwell to DEWIN board

The commission approved two immediate-consideration appointments: Al Hajduz as an alternate to represent Commissioner Care Clemente on the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) General Assembly, and Anthony Cartwright as an alternate to represent Wayne County Register of Deeds Renara Youngblood on SEMCOG. Both motions were moved and supported and the chair called for a vote; the clerk recorded the motions as carried.

Separately, the board considered the city-nominated appointment of Barry Blackwell to the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DEWIN) board. Barry Blackwell addressed the commission, recalled early neighborhood service and thanked members for the opportunity to serve. The motion to confirm Blackwell was moved and carried.

The appointments were recorded in the meeting’s actions and the chair welcomed the appointees.
