Mayor Christina Fegazi highlighted city investments in youth and senior services that she said support public safety and community well-being.
Fegazi said the city served 18,000 youth meals and 20,000 senior meals, ran seasonal camps for 4,000 children, and provided 347 free swim lessons last year. She also said the Play Mobile library expanded with over 112 deployments and that sports participation among youth rose 85 percent.
The mayor highlighted a youth job fair for 14-to-19-year-olds that led to 14 hires and Project Toolbox training that reached 742 teenagers. She said the city will expand accessible recreational facilities to nine public pools for the coming summer.
Fegazi framed these programs as part of prevention and neighborhood investment: "When we talk about public safety, we're also talking about youth opportunity," she said, linking recreation and education to the city's broader strategy.
