Grundy County Board of Health approves contractor agreements, claims and forwards water-code amendment to county board

At its regular meeting the Grundy County Board of Health approved a series of routine actions, including independent contractor agreements, claims and a recommendation to forward a proposed amendment to the county water code.

The chair asked for approval of independent contractor agreements for Sofia Cortez and Lashonda Brown; a board member moved to approve the contracts, a second was recorded and the motion carried by voice vote. The chair then presented claims totaling $19,668.53, which the board approved after no questions were raised.

Staff summarized the April financial report: the fiscal year was about 42% complete, revenues of $60,178 (about 29% of expected) were noted, administration had received roughly 12% of budgeted revenues and spent about 40% of budgeted expenses, nursing had 13% of budgeted revenues and 26% of expenses, and environmental health reported 70% of revenues and roughly 58% of expenses. After a motion and second the financial report was approved by voice vote.

On new business the board considered an amendment to Ordinance 2015-001 (updates to the county water code). The board first approved revised verbiage and then voted to recommend the amended ordinance to the county board for consideration. The chair asked clarifying questions during the exchange; no executive session was held.

No roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the transcript; motions were carried by voice vote. The meeting adjourned after the board confirmed there would be no executive session.
