Worth County supervisors approve Founder’s Day road closure, set DD #6 hearings and grant licenses

Supervisor Mark Smeby moved and Supervisor Enos Loberg seconded a series of routine administrative actions during the Worth County Board of Supervisors meeting on May 18, 2026. The board, with A.J. Stone absent, voted "AYE" on each item unless otherwise noted and adjourned at 8:54 A.M.

The most significant items approved included a request from Arlen Throne to close Airport Road for the F.A.S.T. Speed Trial on Founder’s Day, set for September 12; the board approved that road closure request. The board also accepted annexation and reclassification reports for Drainage District #6 filed by Jon Rosengren of Bolton & Menk, Inc., and set a hearing on DD #6 for August 3 — annexation at 10:30 A.M. and reclassification at 10:45 A.M.

The supervisors approved a work order for DD 6/Lat submitted by Ron Levorson of Levorson Farms LLC with the condition that staff check with TBB regarding any previous spraying before proceeding. The board acknowledged manure management plan updates for Steven Wyborny (Grafton Site #69466) and approved a claim for $829.00 from OTIS Elevator Company.

The board approved retail tobacco licenses for Diamond Jo Worth LLC covering The Jo Stop and Diamond Jo Casino. It also approved the Auxiant Schedule A — Fee & Commission Disclosure statement and authorized Auditor Jacki A. Backhaus to sign the document electronically on behalf of the county.

A procurement action approved a $4,200 bid from North Iowa Custom Seamless Guttering to clean courthouse gutters and install covers.
