Council adopts fee-schedule resolution, hears budget projections

The town council unanimously approved resolution 26-01 to adopt an updated town fee schedule on a motion by Joshua Morris and a second from Krista Hartman.

The move followed a staff presentation explaining several budgetary changes. Town staff said building-permit revenues have come in higher than expected this year and that some sewer-project funds will carry over into the next fiscal year. Staff also noted a reallocation of funds after a deputy-clerk position was moved into the treasurer role, and recommended modest fee adjustments — including a $200 events fee with a $50 refundable deposit for park events — to better cover rising management costs.

"We brought in more than we thought we would this year," a staff member said, explaining that higher permit receipts and relatively flat expenses produced the available balance. The staff member also flagged one account-number misclassification that will be corrected before final accounting.

Council members asked how the fee changes would affect vendors and residents and were told vendors typically park off-site to preserve on-site parking. Joshua Morris moved to approve the resolution by name: "Motion to approve the fee schedule resolution 26-01." Krista Hartman seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

The resolution will be recorded and staff will implement the updated fees and make the accounting corrections discussed. Council members instructed staff to return with any further needed budget adjustments as the fiscal-year close approaches.
