The Nantucket School Committee on May 19 approved a package of routine actions by voice vote, including removal of several policies and acceptance of donations to school accounts.
By unanimous voice vote the committee removed policy EFDA (collection of money for food services) and the related rules and procedures documents (EFDA‑R), and removed EGADR (copyright compliance rules and procedures). The committee had previously discussed removing EFDA while the district participates in state food‑service coverage.
The committee also approved donations: Friends of NPS, $1,800 to Nantucket High School to support a mental‑health awareness project; Cape Cod 5, $1,000 to an NHS gift account for financial literacy/'credit for life' programming; Cape Cod 5, $4,000 to an NHS gift account for a Galapagos field trip; and Nantucket Land Council, $2,016 to NIS grade‑5 for an outdoor classroom field trip. The total of the donations approved at the meeting was $8,816.
The committee approved the March 10, 2026 meeting minutes and approved transfers and invoices as presented. All votes were taken by roll or voice and recorded as "Aye" with no opposing votes noted.
No amendments or controversies were recorded on these items; they were handled as routine business.
