Commissioners raised several ordinance topics for future work: standardizing A/B unit labeling so emergency responders and utilities can find the correct dwelling; clarifying cemetery rules for private burials and whether rezoning/platting is required; and creating an R‑1T small‑lot zoning category to accommodate undersized lots while prohibiting secondary units.
Staff said the town currently lacks explicit language on private family burials and advised residents to consult county and state requirements for recorded cemetery plats and minimum acreage. On addressing, commissioners suggested language that would require visible unit identifiers and posted site maps for larger developments or resorts to assist fire, EMS and police.
On small‑lot zoning, commissioners debated options (restrictive site rules, open‑space thresholds and preventing subdivision chopping) and agreed it is a concept to bring to town council. A commissioner volunteered to present the concept to council to gauge support before the planning board invests further drafting time.
