The Clarke County Business Development and Workforce Taskforce opened its May 20 meeting by approving the day’s agenda and the May 13 meeting minutes. Ilka McConnell moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Broderick Flanigan; Marvin Nunnally moved to approve the prior minutes, seconded by Wesley Mellina. Both motions passed unanimously.
Subcommittee updates followed on worker empowerment, high‑wage employment strategies, a proposed jobs dashboard and small business supports, including a proposed expansion of the revolving loan fund and employee‑ownership succession programming. Kenshundria Bailey‑Allen reminded subcommittees to complete recommendation templates before the June 10 meeting. The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn by Wesley Mellina, seconded by Marvin Nunnally, which the taskforce approved unanimously.
The taskforce calendar includes a subcommittee working meeting on June 3, a full taskforce meeting on June 10 for subcommittee presentations, a prioritization session June 17, a report due June 26, and subsequent Mayor & Commission briefings and a voting session in July and August.
