The Adair County Commission voted on multiple routine items during its February meetings in Kirksville, including an increase to county mileage and meal per diem rates and approvals for community events.
Commissioner McHenry moved and Commissioner King seconded a motion to raise the county mileage reimbursement from $0.65 per mile to the current federal rate of $0.725 per mile and to increase the county daily meal per diem from $55.00 to the federal rate of $68.00. The motion carried on a unanimous vote.
The commission also approved requests to use Courthouse property for community events. Commissioner McHenry moved to approve the Red, White and Blue festival request; Commissioner Shahan seconded and the motion passed unanimously. At a separate meeting, the commission approved use of Courthouse grounds for the Red Barn Arts Festival (moved by Commissioner McHenry, seconded by Commissioner Shahan; vote unanimous).
The commission appointed Adam Dorrell to the county Transportation Advisory Council. Commissioner Shahan moved to appoint Dorrell; Commissioner McHenry seconded and the vote was unanimous.
