Committee to insert statutory reconciliation provisions into House Bill 2029

A committee agreed to use House Bill 2029 as the vehicle for this year's statutory reconciliation bill and called on the Revisor's Office to prepare the conference committee report, members said during a short meeting.

Nick Myers of the Revisor's Office described the measure as "the annual uh statutory reconciliation bill," saying the process is "essentially to cure conflicts between two or more statutes that have been amended in different bills throughout this session." He told members that the contents of the underlying House Bill 2029 would be stricken and replaced with the reconciliation statutes.

Myers also stated that the changes being packaged into the reconciliation bill "have been passed by the legislature and enacted into law subject to statutory publication or publication in the register," and that there are no other technical or substantive changes beyond reconciling the differing statutory language.

Committee members asked no substantive questions. The chair said there was an agreement to "insert the information provided here into House Bill 2029, and that is the reconciliation bill," and then adjourned the meeting.

The conference committee report will be prepared by the Revisor's Office for the committee; no formal roll-call vote or further debate was recorded during the session.
