Commissioners thank staff and reflect on service at Millville City Council's Dec. 31 meeting

Commissioners used the Dec. 31 meeting to offer closing remarks, thank city employees and reflect on their service ahead of a January transition.

Commissioner Hick offered a "heartfelt thank you" to the city public safety team, noting they are short-staffed and expressing appreciation for their work to keep Millville safe. Commissioner Hwitt thanked city employees for their year of service and said it had been a pleasure to work with them.

Vice Mayor Watson delivered an extended reflection on local service, saying he was "born and raised in Millville" and that it was an honor to serve. He described gaining a deeper appreciation for city operations during his term and highlighted priorities discussed during his remarks, including police staffing, having EMS in-house with the fire department and paving projects such as Fifth Street and Columbia Avenue.

The mayor and commissioners exchanged brief expressions of gratitude to staff and residents. No formal actions or policy decisions were taken during these remarks.
