Administration frames job description updates as a reorganization, not growth in central office staffing

Superintendent Eloy presented four updated job descriptions for director/supervisor roles in the teaching and learning department as part of a planned reorganization. Eloy said the updates respond to departures and major state accountability changes — notably that the career and college/career initiative now counts for 25% of school and district performance — and are intended to redistribute responsibilities rather than expand central office staffing.

"I want to be clear that I can guarantee there will be no increase in the total number of central office positions," Eloy said, adding the changes are intended to "work smarter with our existing structure" and to strengthen oversight of transportation vendor performance, cross‑department communications, and monitoring of strategic plans.

Board members asked clarifying questions; administration said three of the positions reflect redistributed duties and the fourth focuses on operational coordination, including bus vendor oversight. Eloy said the changes will support school sites by tightening central office responsibility in key monitoring and coordination functions.
