Resident urges narrower use of district mass‑notification system and flags military information opt‑out form

Vicky Jordan of Buffalo Township addressed the board during public comment, saying the district’s One Call mass-notification system is overused for routine athletic announcements and that parents may stop listening in an emergency. She suggested creating a separate channel for sports notices and reserving One Call for emergencies or special circumstances.

Jordan also reported finding a "military denial of information" opt‑out form on the district website tied to a 2022 state change affecting release of information for 11th and 12th graders. She asked whether the form’s submission deadline would roll forward each year for incoming classes and urged clearer parental notification and instructions. Jordan said most parents probably do not know the form exists.
