Plaquemines Port appoints Chambrell Riley as CFO; council amends executive director salary range to $250,000–$300,000

The council moved to suspend rules to consider an appointment and then authorized an offer of appointment naming Chambrell Riley as chief financial officer; the suspension vote and the appointment were recorded during new business. An executive session pursuant to "LS4216A1" was convened at 4:15 p.m. to discuss the character and professional competence of chief executive officer applicants; the council returned at 4:39 p.m. and reported no binding action was taken in closed session.

After returning, the council added an item to set a salary range for the executive director. A motion initially proposed a salary range of $250,000 to $275,000; Commissioner Edwards offered a substitute to raise the top of the range to $300,000 and the substitute passed. The amended item setting the salary range (with the higher cap) passed by recorded vote; the meeting recorded the action as unanimous.
