Board approves senior trip and agrees to insure Project Grad event

Student leader Max Benson, identifying himself as the senior class vice president and class secretary, presented the proposed senior class trip itinerary (departure from PRHS to Boston, Quincy Market lunch, afternoon excursions including aquarium, Freedom Trail or Red Sox game, and an evening harbor cruise). Benson outlined estimated per-student costs, bus needs, chaperone priorities, and ongoing fundraising activities.

Board members asked logistical and fundraising questions; Max said a Google form and a Facebook sign-up link are being used for registration and that the class aims to raise additional funds to reduce out-of-pocket costs for students. After discussion, board member Andrea moved to approve the senior trip to Boston; the board voted in favor.

Separately, the board considered whether the district should cover insurance for Project Grad, a confidential, student-surprise senior event run by volunteers. Project Grad representatives said they would provide confidential venue details to the board if required; the board agreed the district would provide insurance coverage consistent with other senior trips.

Board action: motion to approve the senior class trip passed by voice/hand vote; motion to provide district insurance for Project Grad was approved.
