Board approves technology donation, facility improvements and naming requests

At the May 14 meeting the Rutherford County School Board approved a set of consent and facilities items including a partnership with Wilson Bank, small capital requests funded by schools or donors, and a field‑naming request.

Wilson Bank will donate $15,000 in exchange for a five‑year marketing agreement to support purchase of five ViewSonic boards and carts for Wilson Elementary classrooms; the board approved the partnership. The board also approved a Blackman Middle football storage building ($3,905.17) and Blackman Elementary gym floor refinishing and logo installation (estimated $7,200) to be funded from school funds or donor support at no cost to the district. Oakland High was authorized to reassemble a greenhouse relocated from La Vergne High (estimated $10,000), funded through school funds.

Separately, the board approved naming Siegel High’s baseball field for long‑time coach Craig Revis, who has coached since the school opened and holds more than 600 wins.

These items were approved by motion/voice vote and were presented as routine facility or partnership approvals with engineering/construction review and no anticipated district cost for the projects.
