The Bedford City Board of Education on May 15 honored dozens of retirees and recognized staff service anniversaries spanning 5 to 45 years.
Interim Superintendent Tom Evans thanked the retirees and told the audience he counted “over 400 years of service to the Bedford City School District” among those retiring. Mr. Warsenkroft read the names and years of service for retirees and staff and invited them forward for certificates and photographs.
The list of retirees and honored staff included long tenures across instructional and classified positions: examples noted in the meeting include Jamie Batten (42 years), Colleen Reed (45 years), and many others with service ranging from five to more than 30 years. Mr. Warsenkroft also read a list of certified staff anniversaries he said totaled over 700 years of service.
Board members offered thanks and congratulations during the meeting, and the board took a group photo with the retirees and their families.
The board’s recognition was ceremonial; no policy or budget decisions were announced as part of the presentations.
