Board approves Panorama data warehouse to consolidate student data districtwide

Marielleen Button, director of curriculum and instruction, asked the board to fund districtwide access to Panorama, a data warehouse that pulls academic, behavioral and attendance information from multiple sources into one interface for teachers and administrators.

Button said the high school and three K–8 schools piloted Panorama this year and the district found it useful for building groups, triangulating assessment data and automating alerts (for example, chronic absenteeism). The additional cost to bring all schools online is $42,745; the district has already paid $30,000 to onboard the first schools. Button said vendor support and training are included, and the district plans to use Title funds to pay the remainder.

Board members asked whether Panorama would consolidate referrals and how it interacts with existing systems (Swiss, Skyward, I‑Ready, FastBridge). Button said Panorama ingests data from those systems (when the data exists in the source platforms) so administrators can see a single picture of a student without replacing source systems.

Trustees approved the purchase in a roll call vote; Button said principals and teachers will receive training and district staff will phase in the system to support effective use.
