Planning commission approves signs, an ADU and a 6,000‑sq‑ft site plan

At its May 13 meeting the Shelton Planning & Zoning Commission approved several routine applications by unanimous vote.

Signs: The commission accepted the sign subcommittee’s recommendation and approved six sign permits, including a return to the prior sign identification for a Shell station. Commissioners discussed map labels and pylon location for Market by Key Foods but concluded the subcommittee’s recommended plans were consistent with regulations; vote: 6–0.

ADU at 38 Silven Avenue: Applicant Demetrius Lamonus presented plans for a two‑bedroom, two‑bath ADU to house family members. Staff reviewed dimensions and documentation and recommended approval; motion passed 6–0.

89 Bridgeport Avenue site plan: Applicant Jim Lennahan returned with revised site and architectural plans for a 6,000‑square‑foot, two‑story building (3,000 sq ft garage/shop on the ground floor and three office spaces above). City engineer, fire marshal and plan exhibits were on file; the commission found the revisions met the engineer’s comments and approved the site plan 6–0.
