At a morning meeting the Clay County Facilities Committee voted to hire Lloyd Construction to convert a vault into office space for court services.
A committee member moved to approve the facilities committee's recommendation to award the work to Lloyd Construction "turning that into an office," and a second was recorded. Michael, a committee member, said he had spoken with Ron Freeman and Ryan Mockler and relayed their support and intent to try to join the meeting remotely. "I did. I spoke to uh Ron Freeman. I provided the Ron and Ryan Mockler the uh the link to the Zoom. They they neither one of them were confident they were going to be able to make it, but they were going to try," Michael said.
Members discussed the practical benefit reiterated by staff contacts: preserving court services on the main floor rather than relocating them. Committee members then voted by voice; the chair declared the motion passed.
Earlier in the meeting the committee approved the meeting agenda by voice vote and the chair asked if there were visitors to be heard; none spoke. The committee concluded by voting to adjourn.
The meeting record does not list a dollar amount for the contract, a vendor bid tabulation, or a named mover and seconder in the minutes; individual roll-call votes were not recorded in the transcript and therefore are not available.
