Board of Civil Service Trustees approves multiple personnel eligibility lists and classification updates

The Board of Civil Service Trustees on May 13, 2026, approved routine personnel actions including final minutes from the April 22 meeting and multiple job eligibility and classification items, board members recorded.

The board first voted to approve the April 22, 2026, minutes after Member Stamper moved to adopt them; the motion carried with all voting members saying “I.” The city clerk confirmed the meeting was in compliance with the state open meeting law before substantive items began.

Member Hesh moved to certify final eligible lists for several positions, including Animal Protection Services Officer I (open); Building Services Electrician (open); Corrections Officer (lateral, open); IT Support Technician (open); Production Technician (open); Senior Cultural Specialist (open); and Senior Systems Analyst (promotional). Members voted to approve the certifications unanimously.

The board then extended eligible lists for Events Planner (open), Fire Engineer (promotional), Materials Management Technician (open) and Pre-trial Services Officer (open) after Member Stamper moved to approve those extensions; the extensions were approved without opposition.

Member Hesh moved to approve corrected classification specifications for Pool Technician, Project Architect and Project Engineer; the vice chair asked for clarification that the corrected specifications were included and the board approved the corrected classifications.

Finally, Member Stamper moved to abolish the eligible list for Plant Operator I; the motion carried.

The agenda opened two opportunities for public comment (a general public-comment period and a citizens participation segment) but no members of the public came forward. The meeting was adjourned following the citizens participation item.

These approvals are procedural steps that allow the city to fill positions and finalize classification changes; the board did not take any fiscal or policy actions beyond personnel certifications and list maintenance at this session.
