A&P Commission confirms Rachel Scott to panel

Rachel Scott was unanimously confirmed to the Arkansas A&P Commission after introducing herself at the start of the meeting as a lifelong Texarkana resident and the chief financial officer of DPN Collection, a management company for several local hotels.

Commissioners asked Scott about her duties and affiliations; Scott said she oversees bookkeeping, financial reporting and a small staff. She told the panel she wanted to be part of decisions about how hotel-related A&P revenues are allocated so the city can “grow and bring more tourism to the area.”

A motion to confirm Scott was made and seconded; a roll-call vote recorded unanimous approval by the commissioners present. The commission welcomed Scott and noted the appointment will be forwarded to the city board for formal placement on the panel roster.
