The Simsbury Board of Education voted to approve routine minutes, accepted two personnel departures and approved a monetary gift for student programming.
Board members moved, seconded and approved the minutes from the April 28 meeting without recorded opposition.
The board accepted the resignation/retirement of Bill Sikinger, a physical‑education and health teacher at Henry James who the board said had served for 27 years; the resignation was accepted effective June 30, 2026. The board also accepted the resignation of Stephanie Wilson, a special‑education teacher at Tuton Hills School who the meeting record says has been with the district one year and has taken a position in another district that offered higher incentives; that resignation was also accepted effective June 30, 2026.
Finally, the board approved a proposed gift of $5,000 from United Therapeutics Corporation designated for the Simsbury High School Robotics Club. The motion to accept the gift passed without recorded dissent.
Ending: The board’s personnel and gift approvals were routine motions on the consent/action portion of the agenda; no further discussion or amendments were recorded.
