Committee approves pilot to allow North Bay Village residents to use city pools for remainder of year

North Bay Village officials and Miami Beach commissioners described a broader vision of shared facilities — including potential reciprocal use of soccer fields and coordination on transit to reduce vehicular trips — and suggested starting with a short pilot while the jurisdictions finalize a memorandum of understanding.

The committee voted to return the item to the full commission with a favorable recommendation to permit free North Bay Village resident access to city pools for a pilot period through the end of the calendar year, and directed staff to negotiate reciprocal terms and an MOU.
