Keene proclaims Kids to Park Day, Bike Day and Municipal Clerk Week; city lists May events

Mayor Khan presented three proclamations and invited the public to a series of May events. He proclaimed May 16, 2026 as Kids to Park Day in Keene and encouraged families to attend a Fuller Park event from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Parks & Recreation Director Cara Fisk described activities planned for Fuller Park, including lawn games, chalk art and rock painting.

The mayor also proclaimed May 2026 as Bike Day (noting a community bike ride on May 16 beginning at Railroad Square) and recognized the Bicycle & Pedestrian Pathways Advisory Committee. Dwight Fiser, the committee chair, said the group is working with a consultant on a master plan and asked residents to complete an online bike-survey form: "if you got any opinions, ideas, suggestions on the bicycle network ... please go to the website and use that form." Fiser noted the city’s silver Bicycle Friendly Community designation and encouraged safety for both cyclists and drivers.

Finally, the mayor recognized Municipal Clerk's Week, thanking City Clerk Terry Hood and her staff for election administration and records stewardship; Clerk Hood thanked the council and staff for their support.

These proclamations were ceremonial and informational; no council action was required.
