Committee advances Metro Water Recovery reappointments and Twin Lakes invasive‑species IGA

The Water Policy Committee agreed to advance three reappointments to the Metro Water Recovery District board and to move a multi‑party IGA to council for continued invasive‑species prevention work at Twin Lakes and Turquoise Reservoir.

Marshall asked the committee to reappoint James D. Herrera, Bob Leg and Johnny Watson for another term on the Metro Water Recovery Board; committee members expressed support and the reappointments were forwarded to council.

Rick presented an intergovernmental agreement negotiated with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and partner entities to protect critical infrastructure at Twin Lakes and Turquoise Reservoir from invasive mussels. The agreement establishes a five‑year schedule for inspection and decontamination (boat washing) and staff asked the committee to send the IGA to council; Aurora's portion of program costs was described during the presentation.
