The board approved the May 6 consent agenda that included the April 30 treasury report, payment of invoices and multiple personnel actions.
Items approved included the resignation of bus driver Emily McKay effective June 6, 2024; retirements in library/media staff after lengthy service; and recommendations to hire Alexis Lan here as associate high school principal and Beth Pet Cotter as a special-education teacher and occupational therapist. The board also approved student requests to attend athletic and FFA events (including a varsity volleyball tournament on Aug. 27–29, 2024 with estimated lodging and food costs of about $2,000–$2,100 per participant and district transportation estimated at $720) and approved multiple donations to district programs.
Board members congratulated students and staff on state competition results (forensics and solos/ensembles) and acknowledged recent donations supporting music programs and a turf fund.
