The Gardner City Public Safety Committee voted May 15 to recommend approval to the full City Council for six secondhand-dealer license applications.
The committee considered application 11826 from EcoATM LLC for a license at 677 Tiffany Boulevard; the police department reported no issues and the committee voted to send the application to the full council for approval. The committee similarly recommended approval for application 11809 (Gardner Candlepin Bowling LLC, 123 Main Street), 11810 (GameStop #3725, 376 Tiffany Boulevard), 11811 (House of Peace and Education Inc., d/b/a Hopeful Boutique, 29 Pleasant Street), 11812 (Salvation Army, 8 Union Square) and 11820 (Gardner Coins & Cards Inc., 18 Parker Street). Motions for each application were made on the record and each ‘‘motion carries’’ in the committee minutes.
The committee record lists motions to recommend approval (movers noted in the minutes such as Councilor Tebow Mungas and Councilor Hugo Munoz where recorded) and indicates unanimous or majority committee support; the committee did not take final licensing votes — those actions must still be taken by the full City Council.
The committee’s review relied on police-department standing checks and a statement from department staff that there were no concerns for the listed applicants. No conditions or amendments to the applications were recorded during the committee deliberations.
Next steps: each recommended application will appear on the full City Council agenda for a final licensing decision.
