Random Lake board approves modest daycare fee increases and notes staff wage adjustments

The board approved modest increases to the district-run daycare fee schedule, effective July 1.

Budget committee members presented rate adjustments across age tiers: infant/toddler weekly fees rose by roughly $11–$13 in the top tiers, with smaller increases for older age groups and hourly increases in other categories. Presenters said the changes reflect efforts to keep staff pay competitive (a separate hourly staff base-wage schedule showed a 4.5% increase) and to prevent operating losses while continuing benefits for full-time staff.

Board discussion noted the daycare program's priority is staffing stability and service rather than profit; presenters reported strong summer enrollments and hopes the program will break even with the new rates. The motion to adopt the revised fee schedule carried by voice vote.
